These terms apply when you use the Matatu Classic app and website. By creating an account or playing, you agree to them. Please also read our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can play
- You must be 18 years or older.
- You may have only one account, registered with your own Ugandan phone number.
- You are responsible for keeping your Google account and phone secure.
2. Fair play
The following are not allowed: cheating, using bots or modified apps, working together with another player (collusion), using more than one account, exploiting bugs, or abusing other players. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules, and cancel games or winnings obtained unfairly.
3. Games and the timer
- Games follow the rules shown in the app and on our rules page.
- Each move must be made within the time limit shown in the app (25 seconds). If your time runs out, you lose the game.
- Our server’s record of a game is final.
4. Money matches
- Money matches are available only where they are enabled in the app. Free games and practice are always free.
- Both players pay the same stake. The winner receives the combined stakes minus a fee of 5%, which is shown in the app before you play. In a draw, both stakes are returned.
- Only play with money you can afford to spend.
5. Deposits, withdrawals and transfers
- Deposits and withdrawals are made with MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money, to the phone number on your account.
- Minimum and maximum amounts and daily limits are shown in the app.
- Withdrawals may be reviewed before they are sent. After you change your phone number, withdrawals pause for a short period to protect your account.
- Your balance changes only when MTN or Airtel confirms a payment.
6. Availability
We work hard to keep Matatu Classic running, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change, pause or stop features at any time.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Matatu Classic is provided “as is”, and we are not responsible for indirect losses, or for problems caused by your phone, your network or your mobile money provider.
8. Changes
We may update these terms. If you keep using Matatu Classic after a change, you accept the updated terms.
9. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda.
